Backbone has significant experience of providing managed IT services to small businesses. We understand the issues that small businesses face as well as how important their IT networks are as a business tool. Backbone works with a retained client base only and provide solutions for all sizes of businesses from individual users via our hosted solution Roadtowork to managed networks for businesses with up to 100 users where solutions range from single server deployments to more complex multiple server deployments with disaster recovery centres offsite.
We deliver excellent service and appropriate solutions to over 80 client businesses in Central London and some 20 others elsewhere in the country. We standardise the core network infrastructures as much as possible and as a result are able to develop significant knowledge on the set of applications that we work with. This leads to the resolution of issues much more efficiently and swiftly given the depth and experience we possess. As a result of this exposure, when a client is misfortunate in experiencing a problem, others benefit from it with new patches before they too are effected.
With service at the centre of everything that we do, our people are our most important asset and in 2005 we achieved the Investors in People accreditation.
Account management is key to our clients, and often a reason given for them switching to us from a competitor. Each client is allocated a Field Engineer to look after their account, and it is this individual that manages the day to day stability of their network and attends site as often as is needed. At Backbone, we work very closely on a day to day basis with the managers and users on all client sites and as such develop not only a close relationship with our clients but also a deep understanding of the issues that they face. Some engineers have become such friends with their clients; they have even had them round for a meal!
We believe providing a full service to our clients for anything to do with technology and the buck stops with us. If bickering or blame takes place, it happens behind closed doors and never in front of our clients who simply want “the job done” and are not interested in the technicalities. Managing the commercial tension between the technical requirements of a required solution and operating within the commercial parameters of available budgets is second nature to us. Our position as a single service provider to our clients results in us having control over all the key elements of an IT solution thereby cutting out many of the third parties to reduce the time taken in resolving problems.
