Prior to any large network restructure or enhancement, the most important criteria to its success is the pre installation project management and information gathering. This is carried out by an account manager and often an individual from the Operations Team back at the NOC. In our experience, the more planning and thought that goes into the work beforehand, the more likely the job is to pass through without a hitch.
When it comes to placing an order for an installation, many of our clients do not have the luxury of spacious offices to accommodate our engineers and the equipment prior to install, so often, much of the preparatory work is undertaken at our NOC. Only when configuration is virtually complete will we come to site and begin the implementation. This regularly occurs over a weekend to avoid any unnecessary downtime and disruption to the users followed by an onsite presence for some time the week after dependant on the scale of the work.
